El segundo bloque de residencias B-Murals en 2023 se extiende del 17 de abril hasta el 16 de julio. Durante estos 3 meses, contaremos con la presencia de los artistas Andrej Bjelić y Andrea Marchetti para desarrollar sus respectivas investigaciones artísticas .
The second block of B-Murals residencies in 2023 runs from April 17 to July 16. During these 3 months, we will host artists Andrej Bjelić and Andrea Marchetti in our studio space, a place where they can carry out their respective artistic research.
Andrea Marchetti es artista visual, fotógrafo y diseñador gráfico originario de Italia con una trayectoria vinculada estrechamente a las grandes ciudades europeas (Roma, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisboa).
Su arte, en una mezcla de lo analógico y lo digital, en tensión entre pasado y futuro, aborda los temas primordiales de la denuncia, la lucha, la tradición y el compartir.
Andrea Marchetti is a visual artist, photographer and graphic designer originally from Italy with a career closely linked to major European cities (Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon).
His art, in a mixture of analogue and digital, in tension between past and future, deals with the primordial themes of denunciation, struggle, tradition and sharing.
METAXÙ
El puente entre los extremos
En los últimos años, la humanidad ha dado pasos de gigante, aumentando considerablemente la brecha cultural entre las generaciones de hace unas décadas y las actuales.
El cambio en el ritmo circadiano del hombre, un mundo pausado antes de las grandes revoluciones tecnológicas frente al de la humanidad actual que no conoce el descanso: el fuego y la electricidad; el folclore y la ciencia; la espera y la instantaneidad; las velas y los neones; la virtud y la perversión.
Mundos antagónicos.
La ‘tradición’ se entiende en el sentido antropológico como “un conjunto de habilidades, conocimientos, normas y valores que la humanidad ha aprendido y asimilado a lo largo de los siglos a través de la convivencia, formando una sociedad y una comunidad que sigue determinados modelos”.
Se redefine por completo tratando de integrarse con las convenciones actuales, reproduciendo un escenario de otras épocas y pensamientos que se comunican en un único universo a través del arte urbano.
‘Metaxu’ es un adverbio griego que significa "en el intervalo, en el punto medio”.
Con ‘Metaxu’ pretendo crear un puente comunicativo donde interpretar viejas tradiciones desde una perspectiva moderna, reelaborada por mi mismo.
Un puente entre lo que ha sido y lo que yo, artista y humano, "malinterpreto" a través de las señales que el tiempo y las personas han dejado al mezclarse con mi imaginario propio, una línea directa, pero no estrictamente lineal entre la vivencia pasada y lo que está por suceder.
Una experiencia construida a través de la escucha, la acción y la comunicación.

The bridge between extremes
In recent years, humanity has taken giant steps forward, considerably widening the cultural gap between the generations of a few decades ago and those of today.
The change in man's circadian rhythm, a leisurely world before the great technological revolutions versus today's humanity that knows no rest: fire and electricity; folklore and science; waiting and instantaneousness; candles and neon lights; virtue and perversion.
Antagonistic worlds.
Tradition' is understood in the anthropological sense as "a set of skills, knowledge, norms and values that humanity has learned and assimilated over the centuries through living together, forming a society and a community that follows certain patterns".
It is completely redefined by trying to integrate with current conventions, reproducing a scenario of other times and thoughts that are communicated in a single universe through urban art.
Metaxu' is a Greek adverb meaning "in the interval, at the midpoint".
With 'Metaxu' I intend to create a communicative bridge where to interpret old traditions from a modern perspective, reworked by myself.
A bridge between what has been and what I, artist and human, "misinterpret" through the signs that time and people have left when mixed with my own imaginary, a direct but not strictly linear line between the past experience and what is about to happen.
An experience constructed through listening, action and communication.

Durante la residencia artística en B-Murals, se han creado diez obras de denuncia y compartir, impulsadas por la energía de la calle, que sin embargo, alcanza híbridas intersecciones gracias a la técnica del óleo y la descomposición cubista de la realidad. "Deliveroo de Abrazos" y "Pranzo en la Fábrica" son paisajes humanos con elementos familiares y cuerpos ajenos: presentan figuras cuadradas y poligonales, manteniéndose cálidos y angulosos al mismo tiempo.
Las anatomías reales son deconstruidas y luego transformadas por el artista, que comienza a definir una forma, prefiriendo no redondear demasiado para dejar la materia cruda a la vista.
De hecho, el escenario en el que se mueve Andrea Marchetti es la realidad, la del área urbana, con sus implicaciones políticas y sociales.
La policía, los androides y la lucha responden al llamado de los presentes y se nutren de relaciones recíprocas, como sugiere el título de la exposición: el puente une lo que una vez estuvo separado y lleva a dos lugares diferentes al mismo tiempo. Entonces, la identidad no se lee solo a partir de sí misma, sino a partir del encuentro con la otra identidad, de la cual surge la necesidad de utilizar la técnica de la fragmentación como acceso a un análisis adicional, siempre un paso más allá del puente.
During the artistic residency at B-Murals, ten works of denunciation and sharing have been created, driven by the energy of the street, yet reaching hybrid intersections thanks to the technique of oil painting and the cubist decomposition of reality. "Deliveroo de Abrazos" and "Pranzo en la Fábrica" are human landscapes with familiar elements and alien bodies: they present square and polygonal figures, remaining warm and angular at the same time.
The actual anatomies are deconstructed and then transformed by the artist, who begins to define a form, preferring not to round off too much in order to leave the raw material on view.
In fact, the scenario in which Andrea Marchetti moves is the reality of the urban area, with its political and social implications.
The police, the androids and the struggle respond to the call of those present and are nourished by reciprocal relationships, as the title of the exhibition suggests: the bridge unites what was once separate and leads to two different places at the same time. Identity, then, is not only read from itself, but from the encounter with the other identity, from which arises the need to use the technique of fragmentation as access to a further analysis, always one step beyond the bridge.
La muestra “Metaxú” de Andrea Marchetti se inauguró en B-Murals el Viernes 15 de Septiembre de 2023 en conjunto con la muestra Yoga Cats de Andrej Bjelić.
La RESIDENCIA B-MURALS es un espacio de creación e investigación artística vinculado con el espacio urbano, y compartido por dos artistas en un periodo uniformizado de 3 meses.
Sus objetivos son:
El apoyo y el soporte a la creación, exploración e investigación artística por artistas urbanos y otros que dialogan con el espacio público.
El fomento de conexiones y la creación de puentes entre artistas internacionales y la comunidad artística catalana.
Crear un espacio apto para la creacion de estudio y fomentar un contexto expositivo vinculado a la intervención pública en la ciudad de Barcelona.
The B-MURALS RESIDENCE is a space for artistic creation and research linked to the urban space and shared by two artists in a standardized period of 3 months.
Its objectives are:
The support and backing of artistic creation, exploration and research by urban artists and others who dialogue with public space.
The promotion of connections and the creation of bridges between international artists and the Catalan artistic community.
The creation of a space suitable for studio creation and to foster an exhibition context linked to public intervention in the city of Barcelona.
