OSONA ART I MUR EN MANLLEU
Osona Art i Mur es un proyecto impulsado por Osona Turisme, dirigido por Transit Projectes, curado y producido por B-Murals., para crear una nueva línea de valor patrimonial en cinco pueblos rurales de Osona a través del arte en espacio público.
Manlleu eligió enfocar sus intervenciones murales en la temática del río Ter, entendido como paisaje biológico, pero también como un espacio histórico y comunitario: por su papel en el desarrollo económico de Manlleu, por ser un lugar de encuentros, caminatas, y vínculos afectivos. El rio, elegido como temática de interpretación, siempre ha tenido enlaces estrechos con las experiencias a la vez individuales y colectivas de los manlleuenses.
Osona Art i Mur is a project iniciated by Osona Turisme, directed by TTransit Projectes, curated and produced by B-Murals, to create a new line of heritage value in five rural villages of Osona through art in public spaces.
Manlleu chose to focus its mural interventions on the theme of the river Ter, both understood as a biological landscape and a historical and community space: for its role in Manlleu’s economic development, and for being a space for meetings, walks and emotional ties. The river, chosen as a theme for interpretation, is deeply connected to the individual and collective experiences of the people of Manlleu.

LUOGO COMUNE
El muro de Luogo Comune está apoyado en la ilustración para representar la gran biodiversidad del río y sus principales elementos a la manera de un catálogo o manual de biología ilustrado.
Trás una investigacion personal y el contacto directo con la orilla del rio, Luogo nos presenta su propia guia de la biodiversidad circundante a través de una clasificación propia; en el lado izquierdo del muro, encontramos especies terrestres, mientras en el lado derecho están las principales especies de agua. Las propias características del muro están aprovechadas para apoyar esta distribución y dar fuerza al diseño, mientras los colores principales remiten al entorno directo: verde del cesped, azul del cielo, amarillo del sol.
Con este mural, Luogo Comune quiere sensibilizar el espectador a la temática del cambio climático e invitarle a cuidar y preservar la biodiversidad local. Así mismo, incluyó las coordinadas exactas de la ciudad de Manlleu y una infográfica recordando las problemáticas globales del cambio climático.
Luogo Comune’s wall is designed with an illustrative style that helps represent the great biodiversity of the river and its main elements in a similar way to a catalogue or an illustrated biology manual.
Throughout his personal research and direct contact with the river bank, the artist presents his own inventory of the surrounding biodiversity through his own classification; on the left side of the wall, we find terrestrial species, while on the right side are the main water species. The characteristics of the wall itself are used to support this distribution and give strength to the design, while the main colours refer to the direct environment: the green of the grass, the blue of the sky, the yellow of the sun.
With this mural, Luogo Comune wants to raise awareness on climate change and invite the viewer to care for and preserve the local biodiversity. Indeed, the artist included the exact coordinates of the city of Manlleu and an infographic recalling the global challenges of climate change.
ROSH
Rosh es un artista afincado en Madrid cuya trayectoria empezó en la calle a principios de los 90. Sus obras en el espacio público parten de una idea o concepto, reforzando mediante el color y las formas, el soporte donde las realiza. La experimentación y la búsqueda de nuevos lenguajes forman parte del adn de su trabajo.
En Manlleu, produce una metáfora abstracta del río con su mural “Riba / Orilla”.
Tomando como punto de partida la geografía de Manlleu, Rosh delivra una interpretación abstracta del río, la orilla, su naturaleza vegetal y algunos elementos cartográficos de la propia ciudad.
Se enfrenta a este edificio de arquitectura y volúmenes característicos de su época - múltiples balcones, ventanas y la propia rugosidad de la pared - que para un artista plástico fácilmente se transforman en un desafío a la creación mural y visual. En respuesta a ello ha creado una fuerte franja en azul klein - un color bastante reconocido en su obra, en representación y visibilidad de la presencia del río Ter, ladeado de una abstracción de los elementos del paisaje en la orilla del río. En contraste con esta organización de los elementos principales, encontramos una composición ya recurrente en el estilo de Rosh: la geometría abstracta, los colores que se evaden hacia el lateral del edificio y jugando con el crudo y natural fuerza de la pared original del edificio.
Rosh is an artist based in Madrid whose career began in the street in the early 90s. His works in the public space are based on an idea or concept, reinforcing through colour and form the support on which they are made. Experimentation and the search for new languages are part of the DNA of his work.
In Manlleu, he produces an abstract metaphor of the river with his mural "Riba / Orilla".
Taking the geography of Manlleu as a starting point, Rosh creates an abstract interpretation of the river, the riverbank, its vegetation and some cartographic elements of the city itself.
He deals with this complicated building which architecture and volumes are characteristic of its era: multiple balconies, windows and the very roughness of the wall easily become a challenge for a visual artist and mural intervention. In response to this, he has created a strong stripe in Klein blue - a colour quite characteristic of his work, that represents and makes visible the presence of the river Ter, and is bordered by an abstraction of the landscape’s elements.
In contrast to this organisation, we find a composition already recurrent in Rosh's style: the abstract geometry, the colours evading towards the side of the building and playing with the raw and natural strength of its original wall.
ELOISE GILLOW
Eloise Gillow es una artista mural británica afincada en Barcelona. En su obra, se centra en representar gestos sutiles para llamar la atención del espectador sobre momentos de la vida cotidiana e invitarnos a encontrar conexiones más profundas entre nosotros y con el mundo natural.
Consigue inspirarse en su entorno y producir murales que se conectan a la perfección con él.
‘Threshold’
El río Ter tiene una importancia fundamental para la ciudad de Manlleu. El mural habla de la conexión entre la gente y el río, y de nuestra relación con el agua y el mundo natural en general.
Situado en un pasillo de la plaza principal, el mural es un umbral de un espacio a otro y representa otro tipo de umbral: la superficie del agua, el umbral entre los mundos de arriba y de abajo. El mundo de abajo se distorsiona cuando lo vemos a través de la superficie ondulada, tiene una cualidad onírica parecida a nuestro subconsciente, la corriente subterránea que está constantemente presente.
El mural nos pide que prestemos atención al mundo natural que nos rodea, que lo apreciemos y lo cuidemos, e invita al espectador a centrarse en este sencillo momento de atravesar la superficie del agua, de pasar de un reino a otro. ¿Qué se siente? ¿Y qué significa para ti?
Eloise Gillow is a UK mural artist based in Barcelona. In her work, she focuses on depicting subtle gestures to draw the viewer’s attention to moments of everyday life and invite us to find deeper connections to each other and the natural world.
She manages to draw inspiration from her surroundings and produce murals that seamlessly connect to their environment.
‘Threshold’
The River Ter is of central importance to the town of Manlleu. The mural speaks about the connection between the people and the river, and our relationship to water and the natural world in general.
Positioned at a passageway into the main square, the mural is a threshold from one space to another and depicts another kind of threshold: the surface of the water, the threshold between the worlds above and below. The world below is distorted as we view it through the rippled surface, it has a dream-like quality akin to our subconscious, the undercurrent that is constantly present.
The mural calls for us to pay attention to the natural world around us, to appreciate it and care for it, and invites the viewer to focus on this simple moment of reaching through the water’s surface, of moving from one realm to another. What does that feel like? And what does it mean to you?

Daniel Muñoz ha sido el artista seleccionado en la curaduría de Osona Art i Mur para producir un mural, junto con la participación de los miembros del centro de salut mental Osonament.
A través de una sesión participativa y de primer contacto con Daniel Muñoz, los participantes de Osonament pudieron reflexionar en torno a la temática del río, y su relación personal con el.
“Tania dibujó el río de noche, con murciélagos volando entre los árboles. Nuria escribió y recitó un texto en el que imaginaba el embarcadero y su actividad a mediados del siglo XIX, Ton dibujó un sol rojo que reflejado en el agua le daba la vida, y yo imaginé la turbina hidráulica que está oculta tras el muro que iba a pintar 3 dias despues…”

“BAÑARSE DOS VECES EN EL MISMO RÍO”, toma como puntos de referencia las experiencias personales de los participantes de Osonament para rendir una reflexion sobre el transcurso del rio y el de las propias personas;
“Según el popular aforismo de Heráclito, es imposible bañarse dos veces en el mismo río: el río cambia y las personas cambian al bañarse en él.”
Daniel Muñoz has been selected in the curatorship of Osona Art i Mur to produce a mural, with the participation of members of the mental health center Osonament.
Through a participatory session and first contact with Daniel Muñoz, the participants of Osonament were able to reflect on the theme of the river, and their personal relationship with it.
"Tania drew the river at night, with bats flying through the trees. Nuria wrote and recited a text in which she imagined the wharf and its activity in the mid-nineteenth century, Ton drew a red sun that reflected in the water gave it life, and I imagined the hydraulic turbine that is hidden behind the wall that I was going to paint 3 days later..."

"BATHING TWICE IN THE SAME RIVER", takes as reference points the personal experiences of the Osonament participants to render a reflection on the course of the river and that of the people themselves;
"According to the popular aphorism of Heraclitus, it is impossible to bathe twice in the same river: the river changes and people change as they bathe in it."
