Bouda
Bouda és un dels artistes del quart bloc de les Residències B-M, el darrer de 2025. Juntament amb Schoko Tanaka, desenvolupa el seu projecte a B-Murals del 15/set al 15/des de 2025.
Bouda és un artista d’origen vietnamita crescut a Alemanya, que ha anat consolidant la seva pràctica entre el dibuix, la pintura i el muralisme, sempre amb una forta atenció a la relació entre el cos, el temps i les superfícies que acullen la seva obra. A B-Murals desenvolupa un projecte centrat en la connexió íntima entre la pintura, el cos i el poder dels objectes al llarg del temps, tres dimensions que convergeixen en una reflexió sobre la identitat i l’efímer.
En aquest context, el mural —pel seu caràcter fràgil i transitori— esdevé una eina on el cos de l’artista participa de manera total i compromesa. La pintura i el cos, alhora, funcionen com a instruments d’imaginari col·lectiu en l’espai públic, però també com a vehicles per a missatges singulars, sempre personals i sovint amb ressonàncies polítiques.
El gènere de la natura morta, que Bouda prefereix anomenar “vida immòbil” seguint la tradició flamenca, ocupa aquí un lloc central. Darrere l’aparent senzillesa dels objectes representats, les seves composicions amaguen lectures dobles que conviden l’espectador a anar més enllà de la immediatesa del subjecte i a endinsar-se en una mirada més lenta, atenta i reflexiva. Allò que a l’art acadèmic va ser situat als marges de la jerarquia pictòrica revela, en mans de Bouda, una gran complexitat i una potència narrativa capaç de connectar amb qüestions íntimes i universals.
Amb aquesta exploració, l’artista recupera també l’herència de tantes pintores que van trobar en la natura morta un espai de resistència en un sistema patriarcal que les excloïa de gèneres majors. És en aquest punt de paradoxa —una “vida immòbil” que alhora conté moviment i poder— on Bouda situa avui l’essència de la seva pràctica.

Bouda is a Vietnamese-born artist raised in Germany, whose practice has developed through drawing, painting, and muralism, with a constant focus on the relationship between the body, time, and the surfaces that host his work. At B-Murals, he is developing a project centered on the intimate connection between painting, the body, and the power of objects over time — three dimensions that converge in a reflection on identity and ephemerality.
In this context, the mural — with its fragile and transient nature — becomes a medium where the artist’s body is fully and physically engaged. Painting and the body act simultaneously as tools of collective imagery in public space and as vehicles for singular messages, always deeply personal and often with political resonance.
The still life genre, which Bouda prefers to call “immobile life” in the Flemish tradition, takes on a central role. Beneath the apparent simplicity of the represented objects, his compositions conceal layered readings that invite viewers to go beyond the immediacy of the subject, embracing a slower, more attentive, and reflective gaze. What was long relegated to the margins of academic art reveals itself, in Bouda’s hands, as a genre of great complexity and narrative strength, able to connect with both intimate and universal concerns.
Through this exploration, the artist also reclaims the legacy of women painters who found in still life a space of resistance within a patriarchal system that excluded them from major genres. It is within this paradox — an “immobile life” that simultaneously contains power and movement — that Bouda situates the essence of his practice today.
