RESIDENCIA FERNANDO DEXTRE - ENERO-ABRIL24
El primer bloque de residencias B-Murals en 2024 se extiende del 15 de enero hasta el 15 de abril. Durante estos 3 meses, contaremos con la presencia de les artistas Akay y Fernando Dextre para desarrollar sus respectivas investigaciones artísticas.
The first block of B-Murals residencies in 2024 runs from 15th January to 15th April. During these 3 months, artists Akay and Fernando Dextre will be present to develop their respective artistic research.
Fernando es un artista muralista de Lima, Perú. En la actualidad, está buscando entrelazar los murales con experiencias personales, buscando establecer una conexión más íntima con la gente.
Fernando, a muralist artist from Lima, Peru, is currently aiming to intertwine murals with personal experiences, seeking to establish a more intimate connection with people.
Fundamentos del proyecto “BASTA”:
El proyecto personal de Fernando comienza por querer expresar y materializar un proceso íntimo que ha llevado varios años desarrollar con terapia y sigue evolucionando. Fue cuando este proceso llegó a un quiebre que vino a su mente la palabra “basta”. Esta palabra representa el enfrentarse a una acción que sobrepasó un límite tolerable de la persona. El camino del proceso de Fernando cambió, y recordar la historia de este hasta el día de hoy lo inspiró a querer registrarlo por etapas, mediante murales con imágenes y palabras que puedan resonar en la gente que camina cerca a estos.
Si bien mediante estas composiciones quería contar su historia, la interpretación de esta cambia para cada persona por su realidad. Es así cómo se le ocurrió expandir más este proyecto. Al compartir esta historia íntima con alguien, y que le responda con alguna parte de su historia que le resuene, tiene la posibilidad de interpretar su anécdota, un quiebre que tuvo su vida en que dijo “basta”.
El proceso consiste en armar su historia de manera que las personas con las que interactuará, y hará el intercambio de historias, puedan entenderlo y entender el fin del proyecto. Cada una de estas personas le compartirá alguna parte de la historia de su vida que le haya resonado al escucharlo, y en base a eso hará una lluvia de ideas sobre cómo representar la historia que le ha contado en un retrato.
En una segunda reunión les planteará (todo por separado) unas propuestas y conversarán hasta llegar a un acuerdo. La siguiente y última reunión con esa persona será para ejecutar la idea final, ya sea con una sesión fotográfica, o una performance registrada, y el resto del trabajo lo desarrollará él solo.
Fundamentals of the Project “BASTA”:
Fernando's personal project begins with the desire to express and materialize an intimate process that has taken several years to develop through therapy and continues to evolve. It was when this process reached a breaking point that the word "enough" came to his mind. This word represents confronting an action that exceeded a person's tolerable limit. Fernando's process took a different path, and recalling its history inspired him to document it in stages through murals with images and words that can resonate with people walking by.
While he intended to tell his story through these compositions, the interpretation varies for each person based on their reality. This led him to expand the project further. By sharing this intimate story with someone and having them respond with a part of their own story that resonates, he has the opportunity to interpret their anecdote, a turning point in their life when they said "enough."
The process involves constructing his story so that the people he interacts with, exchanging stories, can understand him and grasp the project's purpose. Each person will share a part of their life story that resonated with them upon hearing Fernando's story, and based on that, he will brainstorm ideas on how to represent the story they've shared in a portrait.
In a second meeting, he will present (all separately) proposals to them, and they will discuss until reaching an agreement. The subsequent and final meeting with that person will be to execute the final idea, either through a photoshoot or a recorded performance, and the rest of the work will be carried out by Fernando alone.
