“Metaxú: El Puente Entre Pasado y Presente en el Arte" de Andrea Marchetti es parte de la B-Murals Residency Duo Exhibition, muestra compartida con el artista Serbio Andrej Bjelić.
Durante la residencia artística en B-Murals, se han creado diez obras de denuncia y compartir, impulsadas por la energía de la calle, que sin embargo, alcanza híbridas intersecciones gracias a la técnica del óleo y la descomposición cubista de la realidad. "Deliveroo de Abrazos" y "Pranzo en la Fábrica" son paisajes humanos con elementos familiares y cuerpos ajenos: presentan figuras cuadradas y poligonales, manteniéndose cálidos y angulosos al mismo tiempo.
Las anatomías reales son deconstruidas y luego transformadas por el artista, que comienza a definir una forma, prefiriendo no redondear demasiado para dejar la materia cruda a la vista.
De hecho, el escenario en el que se mueve Andrea Marchetti es la realidad, la del área urbana, con sus implicaciones políticas y sociales.
La policía, los androides y la lucha responden al llamado de los presentes y se nutren de relaciones recíprocas, como sugiere el título de la exposición: el puente une lo que una vez estuvo separado y lleva a dos lugares diferentes al mismo tiempo. Entonces, la identidad no se lee solo a partir de sí misma, sino a partir del encuentro con la otra identidad, de la cual surge la necesidad de utilizar la técnica de la fragmentación como acceso a un análisis adicional, siempre un paso más allá del puente.

“Metaxú: The Bridge between Past and Present in the Art” by Andrea Marchetti is part of the B-Murals Residency Duo Exhibition, shared show with serbian artist Andrej Bjelić.
During the artistic residency at B-Murals, ten works of denunciation and sharing have been created, driven by the energy of the street, yet reaching hybrid intersections thanks to the technique of oil painting and the cubist decomposition of reality. "Deliveroo de Abrazos" and "Pranzo en la Fábrica" are human landscapes with familiar elements and alien bodies: they present square and polygonal figures, remaining warm and angular at the same time.
The actual anatomies are deconstructed and then transformed by the artist, who begins to define a form, preferring not to round off too much in order to leave the raw material on view.
In fact, the scenario in which Andrea Marchetti moves is the reality of the urban area, with its political and social implications.
The police, the androids and the struggle respond to the call of those present and are nourished by reciprocal relationships, as the title of the exhibition suggests: the bridge unites what was once separate and leads to two different places at the same time. Identity, then, is not only read from itself, but from the encounter with the other identity, from which arises the need to use the technique of fragmentation as access to a further analysis, always one step beyond the bridge.

En esta exposición especial, hemos decidido destacar el proyecto de Residencias B-Murals - presentando la obra de dos artistas internacionales unidos en un mismo estudio durante tres meses. Un proyecto y un espacio dedicados a fomentar la creación, el intercambio y la exhibición de arte urbano y contemporáneo. Ofrece un espacio de trabajo e investigación para artistas especializados en utilizar los espacios públicos como su principal lienzo de expresión. Sin embargo, también encuentran un espacio para su trabajo dentro de un entorno de estudio.
Hemos orquestado una convergencia única de dos artistas internacionales dentro del mismo marco temporal y espacial. Las residencias de ABRIL-JULIO han unido al italiano Andrea Marchetti y al serbio Andrej Bjelić. En sus proyectos, han establecido un vínculo directo con el lienzo, creando obras de arte en un entorno de estudio. Sin embargo, sus inspiraciones divergen: Bjelić se centró en explorar los movimientos fluidos de un personaje felino que adopta posturas de yoga, empleando capas de textura y trazos vibrantes. Por otro lado, Marchetti ahondó en personajes entretejidos con líneas y trazos delicados, evocando el cubismo y el surrealismo. Ambos artistas muestran sus investigaciones paralelas en esta EXPOSICIÓN DÚO.
Nuestras residencias han hecho más que apoyar actividades artísticas; también han cultivado conexiones entre grupos y organizaciones de ideas afines que comparten objetivos comunes: un profundo aprecio por el arte y el deseo de empoderar a los artistas locales. Con este espíritu, el año 2023 ha marcado la creación de una importante asociación con la fundación Sasa Marceta. Las residencias artísticas B-Murals también deben su existencia a colaboradores vitales, concretamente la Generalitat de Catalunya, el ICUB, Montana Colors y Unite Hostel.
In this special exhibition, we chose to feature our B-Murals Residency project through presenting the work of two international artists united in the studio for three month. A project and space dedicated to fostering the creation, sharing, and showcasing urban and contemporary art. It offers a working and research space for artists who specialize in using public spaces as their primary canvas for expression. However, they also find a space for their work within a studio setting.
We've orchestrated a unique convergence of two international artists within the same temporal and spatial framework. The APRIL-JULY residencies have united Andrea Marchetti from Italy and Andrej Bjelić from Serbia. In their projects, they've established a direct link with the canvas, crafting artworks within a studio setting. However, their inspirations diverge: Bjelić focused on exploring the fluid movements of a feline character adopting yoga poses, employing layers of texture and vibrant strokes. On the other hand, Marchetti delved into characters interwoven with delicate lines and strokes, evoking cubism and surrealism. Both artists showcase their parallel investigations in this DUO EXHIBITION.
Our residencies have done more than support artistic pursuits; they've also cultivated connections among similar-minded groups and organizations that share common objectives: a deep appreciation for art and a desire to empower local artists. In this spirit, the year 2023 has marked the creation of a significant partnership with foundation Sasa Marceta. The B-Murals Art Residencies also owe their existence to vital contributors, specifically the Generalitat de Catalunya, ICUB, Montana Colors, and Unite Hostel.
